At Village Home Care, the safety, dignity, and well-being of our clients are our highest priorities. We maintain thorough hiring practices to help ensure our caregivers are qualified, dependable, and prepared to provide compassionate care.

Our hiring practices include:

• Company Employment: Caregivers are employed directly by Village Home Care. We do not use independent contractors to provide caregiving services.
• Background Screening: All caregivers undergo a comprehensive nationwide criminal background check.
• Driving Qualifications: Employees who transport clients must have a valid driver’s license, appropriate vehicle insurance, and an acceptable driving record. Driving records are reviewed for serious traffic violations.
• Personal Interviews: Applicants participate in face-to-face interviews to discuss their experience, qualifications, and caregiving skills.
• Employment References: Applicants must provide at least two positive professional references.
• Health Screening: Caregivers must meet applicable tuberculosis screening requirements.
• Orientation and Skills Assessment: New caregivers receive orientation covering company policies, client safety, abuse reporting, and caregiving responsibilities. Skills are evaluated through experience, demonstrations, or assessments.
• Communication: Caregivers must be able to communicate effectively with clients, families, and emergency personnel to support client safety.

Our training includes:

• Assistance with activities of daily living
• Safe transfers and mobility assistance
• Personal hygiene and bathing assistance
• Alzheimer’s disease and dementia care
• Recognizing and reporting suspected abuse
• Client privacy and confidentiality
• Client safety and emergency response procedures

We provide ongoing training to help our caregivers maintain their skills and deliver compassionate, individualized support to the families we serve.
